How it works
The Platinum Plus Plan, explained plainly
Platinum Plus is State Life's newest wealth-management plan and the one most people ask us about by name. You pay premiums for the first three years only; the policy then runs to year ten, insured throughout and participating in State Life's surplus.
Its bonus rates are published as their own row on State Life's bonus page — 50% higher than the standard 10-year endowment band — which is the plan's whole point: a short, heavy saving burst that keeps compounding for seven more years.
Platinum Plus is not in State Life's online premium calculator. We prepare a personal illustration from State Life's rate tables, usually within one business day.
- Years 1–3
You pay 3 annual premiums. Cover and bonus participation start immediately.
- Years 4–10
Nothing more to pay. The policy stays fully in force and keeps earning bonuses.
- Year 10
Maturity: sum assured plus all bonuses declared over the full term.
What the policy pays
Benefits, as State Life defines them
- On maturity at year 10: basic sum assured plus bonuses accrued at the Platinum Plus rates.
- On death during the ten years: basic sum assured plus accrued bonuses as at the date of death.
- Premiums for three years only (annual mode).
- Surrender value after two consecutive years in force; policy loan up to 80% of the net surrender value after the third premium.
- 14-day free-look period after the policy is issued.
Optional riders: Accidental Death Benefit (ADB) · Term Insurance Rider (TIR)

✓ Who it suits
- • People with a windfall or three strong years ahead — a bonus, a property sale, a contract abroad.
- • Savers who want a defined ten-year outcome for a specific goal without a long payment habit.
✗ Who should not buy it
- • Anyone who cannot comfortably make three large annual payments — missing one defeats the design.
- • Very long horizons: for 20-year goals the Endowment or Golden Endowment bands usually suit better.
We would rather lose a sale than fit you to the wrong plan.

How your money actually grows
Most State Life savings plans are with-profit: each year the corporation values its fund and declares bonuses for participating policyholders — State Life states it distributes 97.5% of its surplus to them. Bonuses attach to your policy and are paid with your sum assured at maturity or with a claim. In 2025, State Life allocated a record PKR 181 billion in profit bonus. Read the numbers →

Before you choose the Platinum Plus Plan
How many premiums do I pay on Platinum Plus?
Three — one per year for the first three policy years. Nothing is payable in years four to ten, while cover and bonuses continue.
Why isn't Platinum Plus in the online calculator?
State Life has not added it to the public premium calculator. We quote it from State Life's rate tables and send you a personal illustration — ask on WhatsApp or use the form on this page.
How much higher are the bonuses?
State Life publishes Platinum Plus on its own bonus row, described as 50% higher than a standard 10-year endowment. The illustration section shows what those declared rates add to a nominal sum assured over ten years.
Can a child be the life assured?
Yes — entry ages run from 1 to 65, so parents and grandparents often buy it in a child's name to mature at university age.
Is there a Takaful version?
Yes. State Life's Tayyab Takaful window offers a Takaful Platinum Plus Plan on the same three-pay, ten-year shape under the Wakala–Waqf model.
What is an investment or savings plan?
It is a life-insurance plan that does two jobs at once: it protects your family, and it builds up a savings amount you receive later — on maturity, at retirement, or at a milestone like a child's education. You pay regular premiums and the plan grows over time.
What does your advice cost me?
