How it works
The Golden Endowment, explained plainly
The Golden Endowment (Table-81) is a with-profit endowment with an unusual shape: the premium-paying period is the first seven years, but the policy runs — and accrues bonuses — for twenty.
That makes it popular with people whose income is strong now but uncertain later: business owners, overseas workers on fixed contracts, or anyone who would rather finish paying early.
Because the cover term is 20 years, the policy sits in State Life's highest endowment bonus band for its whole life, and the terminal bonus applies for the premium years beyond ten do not — so the illustration below reflects seven paid years.
- Years 1–7
You pay 7 annual premiums. Cover and bonus participation start immediately.
- Years 8–20
Nothing more to pay. The policy stays fully in force and keeps earning bonuses.
- Year 20
Maturity: sum assured plus all bonuses declared over the full term.
What the policy pays
Benefits, as State Life defines them
- On maturity at year 20: basic sum assured plus all bonuses declared over the twenty years.
- On death at any point in the 20 years: basic sum assured plus accrued bonuses.
- Only seven annual premiums to pay; the policy then runs paid-up-in-full to maturity.
- 31-day grace period on premiums; surrender value after two consecutive years' premiums.
- Policy loan up to 80% of the net surrender value after the third annual premium.
Optional riders: Accidental Death Benefit (ADB) · Term Insurance Rider (TIR)

✓ Who it suits
- • Earners who can commit strongly for a few years — overseas contracts, peak business years — and want nothing to pay after that.
- • Parents who want a policy that matures around a child's university years without a 20-year payment habit.
✗ Who should not buy it
- • Tight monthly budgets: seven years of payments for twenty years of cover means each premium is larger than a 20-pay endowment for the same sum assured.
- • Anyone who needs the money before year 20 — the plan is built to be left alone.

The growth engine
How your money actually grows
Most State Life savings plans are with-profit: each year the corporation values its fund and declares bonuses for participating policyholders — State Life states it distributes 97.5% of its surplus to them. Bonuses attach to your policy and are paid with your sum assured at maturity or with a claim. In 2025, State Life allocated a record PKR 181 billion in profit bonus. Read the numbers →

Before you choose the Golden Endowment
Do I really stop paying after seven years?
Yes. The premium-paying term is seven years and the policy term is twenty. After the seventh annual premium the policy stays fully in force — cover, bonuses and all — until maturity at year 20.
Why does the calculator show a 7-year term for Golden Endowment?
State Life's calculator lists the premium-paying term. The plan's cover term is always 20 years; the maturity illustration on this page uses 20 years of bonuses.
Is the Golden Endowment bonus rate different from the ordinary Endowment?
No. State Life's bonus page applies the Endowment rates to the Golden Endowment, and as a 20-year policy it earns the top band throughout.
What happens if I die in year 12, long after I stopped paying?
The full sum assured plus every bonus accrued to that date is paid to your nominee. Cover does not reduce after the payment period ends.
Who is eligible?
Entry ages 20 to 55, so the policy matures by 75. Both men and women can buy it; joint life is not offered on this table.
What is an investment or savings plan?
It is a life-insurance plan that does two jobs at once: it protects your family, and it builds up a savings amount you receive later — on maturity, at retirement, or at a milestone like a child's education. You pay regular premiums and the plan grows over time.
What does your advice cost me?
Nothing. Our consultation is free and we do not charge you a fee. We are paid a standard commission by the insurer when a plan is issued, which is why we will tell you plainly when a plan is not right for you.
