How it works
The Child Education & Marriage Plan, explained plainly
The Child Education & Marriage Plan (Table 76) is bought by a parent (aged 20 to 60) on a child aged 1 to 15. You pick the age at which the money should arrive — 18, 21 or 25 — and the term follows, between 10 and 24 years.
At maturity the child receives the sum assured plus all accrued bonuses, as a lump sum or in five equal annual instalments — degree fees, a wedding, or a first business.
If the parent dies during the term, all future premiums are waived and the policy continues with full benefits. With the optional Family Income Benefit, the child also receives an annual income until maturity.
What the policy pays
Benefits, as State Life defines them
- At maturity: sum assured plus accrued bonuses to the child, as a lump sum or five annual instalments.
- On the parent's death: all future premiums waived; the policy stays in force with full benefits.
- Optional Family Income Benefit: a regular annual income to the child until maturity after the parent's death.
- Bonuses at State Life's Endowment rates for the full term.
- Maturity can be timed to the child's 18th, 21st or 25th birthday.
Optional riders: Accidental Death Benefit (ADB) · Term Insurance Rider (TIR) · Accidental Indemnity Benefit (AIB) · Family Income Benefit (FIB) · Waiver of Premium (WP) · Special Waiver of Premium (SWP)

✓ Who it suits
- • Parents of children under 15 who want a guaranteed fund at a known age.
- • Single-income families — the premium waiver is the feature that matters most.
✗ Who should not buy it
- • Children over 15 or goals under ten years away — the term will not fit.
- • Parents who want to keep the money for themselves; the benefit belongs to the child.

How your money actually grows

Bonuses attach to your policy and are paid with your sum assured at maturity or with a claim. In 2025, State Life allocated a record PKR 181 billion in profit bonus. Read the numbers →

Before you choose the Child Education & Marriage Plan
Who is insured — the parent or the child?
The parent is the life assured and the payer; the child is the beneficiary. That is why the plan can waive premiums and keep paying if the parent dies.
What is the difference between the two calculator options?
State Life quotes the plan with and without the Family Income Benefit. With FIB, the child also receives an annual income until maturity if the parent dies — the premium is higher. Toggle between them in the calculator above.
At what age does my child get the money?
You choose 18, 21 or 25 at the start, and the policy term is set accordingly (10 to 24 years). The payout can be a lump sum or five equal annual instalments.
Is this a marriage plan for a daughter?
It is one plan for either purpose — education, marriage or a start in business — and State Life places no condition on how the child uses it.
What bonuses does it earn?
State Life applies its Endowment bonus rates to this plan for the full term; longer terms fall into higher bands.
What is an investment or savings plan?
It is a life-insurance plan that does two jobs at once: it protects your family, and it builds up a savings amount you receive later — on maturity, at retirement, or at a milestone like a child's education. You pay regular premiums and the plan grows over time.
What does your advice cost me?
